The inaugural EdHeroes Global Forum 2024 was a 24-hour, "glocality"-focused livestream event held on 11–12 July to connect cultural heritage with modern education. The forum attracted over 100,000 viewers, launched a guide for education organisations, and established a committee to integrate cultural heritage into global curricula. Under the auspices of the United Nations, the forum brought together over 100 speakers from 40 countries to address the theme of "Cultural Heritage in Education".

The event functioned as a "glocal" platform, connecting global educational leaders with local communities to ensure that innovation remains culturally relevant and inclusive. Key outputs included the introduction of the EdHeroes Guide to Leading Education Organisations and the launch of the Committee on Cultural Heritage in Education, which aims to integrate traditional values into modern curricula permanently.

David Cotterrell contributed to the Imagine Heritage and EdHeroes Greece Hub panel.  Drawing on his extensive background in multidisciplinary interventions and social research, he discussed how cultural heritage is a vital part of identity and a fundamental right in global education.  His insights stem from his lifelong exploration of art’s role in shared social spaces, offering a critical perspective on preserving and teaching heritage in a rapidly changing world.
